A smile and a bag full of Pastel de Nata

Lisbon is full of hidden spots and inspiring architecture.
A conglomeration of old, modern and South European passion, an environment the visitor either loves or gets annoyed by.
My second time visiting the fair lady left me less impressed, mainly because it rained all the time. Of course we can't order the weather, nor do we melt from a bit of water... At the same time I do prefer the old town than the modern Oriente suburb I was in this time.
It was refreshing to be surrounded by polite mostly or at the very least lively people. After spending two wks in Hong Kong where excuse me and pardon me are not part of the vocabulary it felt good to be surrounded by people who smile and laugh, people who talk to you just because you are standing next to them.
Thinking back my annoyance about the weather, the lack of organisation and constant noise has evaporated. Instead I have a perpetual smile and a bag full of Pastel de Nata...
After all Lisbon and Portugal in general reminds me of home :-)...
