Oz calling…

Fresh back from a two week holiday in Australia, already missing the sun caressing my skin. The Australian heat is definitely different that the south European heat. The intensity of the sun is higher and I found myself flirting with the sunscreen more than I ever had before. Despite my attempts to avoid sunburn I walked around half of the time with a red nose.
Our trip spring up by a couple of friends wedding plans. The wedding took place in Brisbane, a friendly and casual city with an amazing growth. Situated by the river and equipped with beautiful parks and botanical gardens it’s a paradise for an easy going life style. Full of nice restaurants, cafes, bars and the necessary shopping malls, it makes for a fun stay. Both the Golden coast with surfer’s paradise and the Sunshine costs are only a couple of hours away. With a climate that offers year around tempered weather and sunshine, I would go as far as to call Brisbane and the surrounding areas the Florida of Australia.

Our adventure started on the 19th of February, a wet and cold morning it was when we boarded the Malaysian airlines flight to Kuala Lumpur. The plan was to spend a day in KL, do a bit of speed tourism and taste the local delights. Excellent plan in theory and without a jet lag, in reality we manage to do both a bit of sight seeing, lunching, shopping and falling asleep at every opportunity and every comfortable seat we could find.
We arrived in Sydney the morning of February 21st and after a brief and friendly encounter with the immigration officers we were on our way to catch our next flight to Brisbane.
We stayed in Brisbane until the 26th of February after which we move to the sunshine coast for a couple fantabulous days in a beautiful resort. On the 28th we took our next scheduled flight to Sydney were we stayed until the 4th of March and the 5th of March found us back to fair London by early evening.

We experienced so many beautiful things and tastes and build memories to keep us warm on the remaining cold days of the British weather. Looking back the trip now feels like a dream. A fantastic and orgasmic dream that will carry in my memory for many days to come.

Fully knowing that this is a short hand version on my trip report and planning to tackle each area and destination as separate topic I will leave you with the dream of the sun rays glowing on your skin and the eco of the waves breaking on golden sand.
………. Kuala Lumpur and the tallest buildings in the world coming soon in monitors near you…….
