Is intend of taking an action and actually taking that action classified the same?

According the holy books, then we feel it in our heart and mind it doesn’t matter if we actually take the action, it’s a good as having done so.
Personally, I believe that it depends on the particular situation. If we are talking about thinking about eating but not eating well those two things are not one and the same.
The brain is indeed a very powerful organ and I am sure we can make our body believe that we have eaten even when we haven’t.
Similarly, if you are student and you think about studying but you don’t actually do so it doesn’t produce the same results… if it does you are a very lucky person.
The matter gets more complicated when we look at politics and relationships.
Especially in the case of relationships intend can be very powerful and can destroy lives…
