Bollywood Groves...
Yes, I know, it’s been a long time, but you know how things are around the holidays…
Between, cleaning, cooking, eating, drinking, laughing and having a good time there is very little time left for writing. At there was for me.
I though about it a lot, but I guess, I was lucking the inspiration. Nevertheless here we are again…
A new year, 2007, a very promising one if I may add, not that I am an expert in these things I just have this feeling that a lot of things will happen this year.
We said farewell 2006 with all the customary celebration, food, drinks and fire works.
Looking back, I can truly say that it went by quite fast, but then again that is a common phenomenon as we get older. The busier we are the faster time goes by.
2006 was an eventful year for me. Lot’s of good and bad things happen but I made it on the other side still smiling and remembering or trying to only the good things.
I have high expectation of 2007. For starters I will enter my 35 year, yes indeed little Nassia is not that little anymore. Could someone tell my parents please!!
I am getting used to my new home and I have great plans to improve its ambiance even more. Commuting to work and making my way through the tube crowds is now second nature. I had to become a bit more assertive to accomplish this. Work is work and I will not take up your time and bore you with work time stories, you have enough of your own I am sure.
Instead, I will bore you with stories of my dancing adventures.
Yes you heard right…me and dancing don’t always go together. I mean I love my couch and movie time. But I also like to dance, usually I dance when I am really mad and I want to release some tension… then I do some of my best dancing and occasionally on the dance floor of some club, this is more rate, especially these days.
To make a long story short I decided to take a Bollywood street dance class. This is combination of Pop Street dancing and Bollywood bangra dancing. I thought it will be a good laugh and a bit less boring than just going to the gym. I was so right! I really love this class; it’s a lot of hard work both physically and mentally. Physically because you continuously move and jump around and mentally because you have to remember a sequence of dance moves which every week become longer and longer. It’s fun, sexy and very exhilarating. If you have seen a Bollywood movie and you have paid attention to the dances you probably know what I am talking about.
If not just think, body roll, book shake and shimmies and never ending wiggles; add some seductive eye and hand movements and you’ve got the recipe. Did I say I love this class? Let me say it again I really love this class, despite my lack of hand and foot coordination; which by the way it is getting better each time.
The track I am learning at the moment is from the Bollywood film Bunty aur Babli. To get a glimpse take a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxoeLH0Ukc and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AN2xMUCsjMc&mode=related&search=
Till next time happy dancing…
