The Blues...
A thought popped into my head while I was running a report at work, the thought "Singing the blues" the reason a really tough and strange week.
Doing a search about singing the blues, I found out fast enough that it was a popular song title, originally sang by Guy Mitchell (written by Melvin Endsley) and covered by the likes of Tommy Steele, Van Morrison and even Paul McCartney.
The lyrics simple and melodramatic, not exactly how I am feeling, but lacking the inspiration at the moment to write my own, I will share what already exists with you... My excuse, do I really need one? One more inch of word pollution out on the digital highway wouldn't harm anybody ;-)
Singing The Blues
(Melvin Endsley)
[Intro instrumental and whistling]
Well, I never felt more like singin' the blues
'Cause I never thought that I'd ever lose
Your love dear, why'd you do me this way
Well, I never felt more like cryin' all night
'Cause everythin's wrong, and nothin' ain't right
Without you, you got me singin' the blues
The moon and stars no longer shine
The dream is gone I thought was mine
There's nothin' left for me to do
But cry-y-y-y over you (cry over you)
Well, I never felt more like runnin' away
But why should I go 'cause I couldn't stay
Without you, you got me singin' the blues
[Instrumental and whistling]
Well, I never felt more like singin' the blues
'Cause I never thought that I'd ever lose
Your love dear, why'd you do me this way
Well, I never felt more like cryin' all night
'Cause everythin's wrong, and nothin' ain't right
Without you, you got me singin' the blues
Oh, the moon and stars no longer shine
The dream is gone I thought was mine
There's nothin' left for me to do
But cry-y-y-y over you (cry over you)
Well, I never felt more like runnin' away
But why should I go 'cause I couldn't stay
Without you, you got me singin' the blues
