A Cosmic Conspiracy?
It’s been said that a picture says a thousand words…
Well a picture or for that matter an image says a lot that is not communicated verbally. In the high passed environment of busy congested cities most of us live these days, we rarely take the time to look around and smell the roses. We are people with blinders on, having a mission in mind and we go about reaching the end goal. We forget that life is still going on around us.
It’s a sensory overload out there, but how often do we actually recognize what is happening around us?
We live in strange times! Times that we believe we have an option which we exercise regularly. I do find it curious however that so many of us live our lives based on the options we have, striving to make a comfortable environment for us and our families and in the process we don’t have time to enjoy what we are building because we have to keep going. Keep working, keep accumulating wealth, and keep climbing the social later, because we don’t have an option. If we want to be part of the commercial society around us it appears that our only option is to give up our options and follow we human wave pushing and straggling into the future.
Isn’t that ironic?
What a tragic twist of fate for our race. From the beginning of times we strove to gain our independence and freedom by exercising free will. Isn’t that which set us apart from the animals?
And yet today most of us conform in a form of volunteer slavery called work. We are willingly part of the working force in order to achieve our dreams and stay alive. Unless we were born into exceptional wealth we have to work if you want to eat, cloth ourselves, have a roof over our heads; all basic needs for human survival.
Given the choice to have everything we want without working for it; how many of us would be working?
If work is so much fun then why are we getting paid to do it? We are not getting paid to go on holidays, or party, although some lucky ones get both vacation and good parties as perks through their work. Overall the majority of the things we do for our enjoyment are not something we are getting paid to do. Our compensation is the satisfaction, the knowledge and the experience we get by doing them.
Our rase towards a better future is a cosmic conspiracy to keep us from questioning everything else that is happening around us. On average we are happy to keep on that path as long as the next designer outfit, a bigger house, a faster car and a hefty bank account is around the corner.
I am not saying that there are no exceptions to this phenomenon but overall it’s a superficial world we live in. Since the majority of us have made the choice to give up our choice might as well enjoy what we are building. So Smile it’s contagious and it feels good!
